India Basin Shoreline Park Groundbreaking on August 19

Join the partners of the India Basin Waterfront Park project—the Trust for Public Land, San Francisco Foundation, A. Philip Randolph Institute, San Francisco Recreation and Parks, and the Bayview-Hunters Point community—for the groundbreaking on the third and final phase of the project at India Basin Shoreline Park (Hunters Point Boulevard and Hawes Street). It will take place on Tuesday, August 19 from 11 a.m. to noon and will feature remarks, a shovel ceremony and refreshments.

This phase will improve access, expand recreational amenities, and enhance the shoreline habitat at the park, with planned features including a gravel beach, cookout terrace, a new boat house with a floating dock, new playgrounds, fitness stations, basketball courts, and more.

Once completed, the park will connect with the adjacent India Basin Waterfront Park at 900 Innes, which opened in October 2024. Together, they will form a 10-acre, continuous bayside park offering miles of trails, new recreation opportunities, direct shoreline access, and increased resilience to sea level rise.
