As part of the India Basin Shoreline Park renovation, essential construction work will take place at night and on weekends this month. Night work begins Monday, November 10, and will continue through the end of November.

This work involves earthmoving along the shoreline, which must be completed during low tides at night to meet environmental permit requirements and protect local wildlife. The approved window for this activity ends November 30.

Residents may notice additional noise and lighting, as well as workers wearing Tyvek full-body protective suits. These suits are standard safety gear used when excavating older soil from the area’s shipbuilding era. Air monitors will be in place throughout the work to track air quality, and crews will take immediate measures—such as applying water to control dust—if elevated levels are detected.

Please note that this work is entirely unrelated to activities at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, which is roughly half a mile away. To see the full work schedule, click here: https://tinyurl.com/3uw32ukr
